Thank you Martin for your comment. It would be nice if there were more waders at Strumpshaw. Perhaps the management would create a mud bank in front of Tower hide at sometime to attract Avocets etc.

It does Liz, these are very strange birds to watch. This cormorant first had a swim and then dried its wings. It turned one way then the other to dry both sides. Great to watch. Thank you for your comment.

Well captured Liz, you did well to get it as they do not hang around too long. They are beautifully marked birds and your image shows it off well against the dark background.
