Thanks for your kind comment Dudley it is much appreciated. Yes they are lovely little birds, difficult to find in trees, but easy if they are in/on old buildings and sleeping in the sun.

It is a longhorn moth, however, I would suggest it is the Green Longhorn rather than the Early, which prefers sallow and has slight reddish or purplish reflections towards the top of the wing. This year the Early was flying in March. Green longhorns are emerging now and the males will swarm in the sun around small trees.
