We frequently curse smoke alarms going off at the slightest whiff of cooking but they proved their worth last night for our unfortunate neighbour. Fire Service was called to fire in Highway, Lingwood, 9.30pm last night.

Pumps from Acle and Sprowston responded to a building fire on High Way. Breathing apparatus and hose reel jets were used to extinguish.
