MTB102 at Beccles Marina

Cruise in Company.

On August 24 - 25th - The MTB102 will be coming through Mutford Lock and leaving Oulton Broad for The Waverney River Centre to meet up with Broad Ambition and over 30 other boats coming from all points around the Norfolk and Suffolk Broads to Cruise in Company to Beccles Village Marina.

Both of these boats were involved with the Queens Diamond Jubilee on the Thames.

We will be in Beccles until Saturday 25th and some till Sunday 26th so if any one would like to pop along and say hello then please feel free to make yourselves known.

Please be aware that we will be in the marina area so stay away from the water edge and take care.

The MTB102 with Richard Basey, of the MTB 102 Trust, ( www.mtb102.com ) will be in attendance and I,m sure would be pleased to answer any question about this famous vessel.

A time scale will be difficult to post due to various things like tide, and weather but it is hoped that
the arrival through Mutford Lock will be about 1000 hrs on 24th .

The Waverney River Centre RV point will be about 1230 when we hope all boats will be able to muster for the Cruise to Beccles at about 1400 on 24th.

I will try and post a more up to date time scale when and if I have details.

This will be the last update as I will be on the way on my boat from tomorrow heading down that way.
The MTB102 will be coming through Mutford Lock at 1000 hrs on the Friday 24th Aug. and will be waiting for the rest of the flotilla and crew to join her.

At 1400 the rafting up should be underway and ready to leave.

On the Sunday at Beccles the MTB102 will be getting ready to return to Oulton Broad at 0745 for a 0800 sailing time.

The MTB102 have now arranged for 8 people - 2 to help with the crewing of MTB102 and 6 as passengers for the cruise from Oulton Broad to Beccles on the Friday 24th Aug.
With another 8 persons on the return leg back from Beccles to Oulton Broad on the Sunday.

All go ahead for the MTB102 on 24th Aug. at Oulton Broad.
On the Sat a large number of boats will going from Beccles to Geldeston some of the prettiest parts of the southern rivers, for a few hours at Geldeston Lock, then back to Beccles.

First update.- Could well be more nearer the time.

The passage plan and itinerary are ready for the August CINC to Beccles.

Yare and Waveney contingents will rendevous on Friday at 1300/1330 hours at Oulton Broad Y/S.

In the planning stages is a full rafting up on Oulton with the MTB 102 at appox 1400hrs. This is subject to being finalised with MTB102 and the exact time will of course depend on the arrival of the northern rivers contingent.

This rafting event will present a great photo opportunity for this special event.
Immediately after the rafting photo shoot, MTB 102 will lead the cruise off to Beccles. Followed by the flotilla - two abreast all the way up the Waveney. We expect to be in Beccles by around 1630 / 1700hours.

It is hoped that visits will be available to view the MTB102.
