Icicles on my conservatory

coming home from work after being snowed off to find these gems hanging from my conservatory
taken with my Sony NEX C3 has any one got suggestions to improve my shots

I am not in the know about the settings on the camera .. but..
looks like it is trying to focus on a further point... try using some black card .. preferably matt if you can get hold of some as they are lost to the white of the upvc behind.. try macro .. maybe now its dark with the aid of a torch ... or flash? have a play around!
these are pretty splendid icicles :)
